Josh Frankel, CFP®
Josh Frankel, CFP®, is executive vice president for West Bearing Investments, a division of Ferguson Wellman. Frankel is a portfolio manager with individual and institutional clients concentrated in Portland, Vancouver, Eugene, Bend and Medford. He also serves on the firm's wealth management committee.
Frankel possesses a range of professional experiences that enable him to provide a high level of client service and guidance on investment management and planning. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Frankel follows a disciplined process to fully understand his clients’ goals to provide the best possible investment counsel.
Prior to joining West Bearing, Frankel worked as a financial advisor and retirement planning specialist for Merrill Lynch. He earned his M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Oregon. While completing his undergraduate degree, he played football for the Ducks from 1996 to 2000.
Frankel currently serves as a board member of New Avenues for Youth and as the vice chair and executive committee member of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. Frankel is past chair of both the Greater Portland Hillel and the Oregon Club of Portland. In 2017, he was recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of Portland's "Forty Under 40." He lives in Southwest Portland with his wife, Amy, and their three children. Frankel enjoys running, mountain biking and golf in his spare time.
Valerie Griggs joined the firm in 2018, serving as client relationship associate for our division, West Bearing Investments, working with portfolio managers Charissa Anderson and Josh Frankel.
She assists clients in a variety of ways, such as transferring and distributing assets, generating tax information, distributing performance reports, setting up new accounts and handling special requests.
Prior to joining West Bearing Investments, Griggs worked in a variety of roles in the finance and insurance industries, as a financial advisor at Ameriprise Financial, and as a private bank advisor at Silicon Valley Bank in the Private Banking division. Griggs received her B.S. in business administration with a minor in finance from the University of Oregon and holds licensing for life and health insurance in the states of Oregon and Washington.
Griggs lives in Lake Oswego where she gives her time to the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation, the Special Olympics of Oregon and the Lake Oswego School District. She has a young son and daughter and enjoys playing tennis, spending time at the beach and service dog training for an Australian Labradoodle.
charissa anderson, cfp®
Charissa Anderson, CFP®, senior vice president, joined West Bearing Investments, a division of Ferguson Wellman, in 2017 and serves as portfolio manager. Anderson is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and adheres to a disciplined approach and process to fully understand her clients’ goals and then provide the best financial and investment counsel.
Prior to joining West Bearing, Anderson was a private bank advisor at Umpqua Private Bank for six years, providing wealth management solutions for high-net-worth individuals. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Portland State University and her Certified Financial Planner™ certification and Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from the University of Portland.
Anderson serves on the board of directors for the Classroom Law Project. In her free time she and her husband enjoy spending time with their young children, traveling, discovering Portland’s dining scene and exploring the Pacific Northwest outdoors.
Chelsea L. Diamond
Chelsea Diamond joined West Bearing Investments in 2018 and serves as a client relationship associate.
She assists West Bearing clients through transferring and distributing assets, generating tax information, distributing performance reports, setting up new accounts and handling special requests.
Prior to joining Ferguson Wellman, Diamond worked in various client-facing and administrative roles at TIAA, Wedbush Securities and Edward Jones Investments. She earned her B.A. in business and communications from Eastern Oregon University.
A Portland native, Diamond is involved in her community, specifically through her love of sports. In her free time, she plays soccer and coaches track and field at Rex Putnam High School. She also loves to hike, play fantasy football and spend time with her nephews.
